Software Architect

As the software applications architect,  you will be responsible for the architecture, development and maintenance of embedded software. You will develop firmware as well as drivers for the Infoblox DNS platforms. You will be working with very experienced, passionate and smart team members for a public company with proven management. You will be able to come up with innovative products developed from ground up that will have profound impact on components in computer networks of tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with hardware, software, kernel architects to evaluate various trade-offs to generate best in class architecture, optimize the firmware, software and hardware implementations
  • Support the teams to complete the development phases including design, implementation, integration, testing and ramp up at customers
  • Evolve the architecture to support new algorithms and new features
  • Hands on development during prototyping and whenever necessary
  • Hands on debugging, performance tuning for tough issues
  • Fast path packet processing development at embedded level
  • Kernel and platform related implementation
  • Work with QA and manufacturing team to help ensure a high quality product
  • Help the sustaining engineering team for any customer escalations
Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in CS, CE, EE, or other technical field such as math or physics.
Knowledge and Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years in hands on software development with 5 years as a Firmware architect
    • Strong C/C++ programming skills in Linux or UNIX multi core environment
    • Deep hands-on network packet processing knowledge and experience with Ethernet, IP V4/V6, UDP, TCP protocols; Linux NIC drivers
    • Experience with designing, documenting and implementing software features in embedded networking products
    • Strong experience with fast path packet processing.
    • Experience with processors such as ARM, MIPS, and PowerPC
    • Experience with board bringup, uBoot and other hardware
    • Deep understanding of hardware designs, SI and DVTs
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and willingness to figure out solutions
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to interact professionally with other employees to understand problems, provide solutions and provide feedback
Desired skills:
    • Experience reviewing and contribute to layouts, schemas, SI analysis, eye diagrams etc.
    • Experience with Cavium products
    • Proficiency with DNS or DHCP protocols
    • Experience with SNORT, DPI or IPS is a plus
    • Experience with kgdb and gdb
