Solutions Architect Job Description
Verizon Digital Media Services is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to provide deep subject matter expertise for the Professional Services team. The successful candidate will bring extensive industry experience and act as a trusted advisor for a wide range of customers by providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer engagement life cycle. The position requires broad experience in the digital distribution environment and emerging technologies with an emphasis on Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and the digital media life cycle.
Provide technical expertise and solution development to new and existing customers in order to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsible for managing key phases of customer engagements with specific emphasis on customer onboarding to the VDMS suite of services for the CDN and the Video Life Cycle Solution (VLS) products.
Support the sales team in pre-contract activity related to the technical assessment of customer workflow and business requirements and application of the VDMS products..
Develop project scope and implementation plans that ensure an efficient and seamless provisioning experience for the customer.
Lead client kick off meetings around requirements gathering, technical specifications, gap analysis and platform integration.
Design, document, create SOW’s and implement complex solutions for customers.
Individual should possess a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in several of these technical areas and familiarity with most.
Experience with CDN architecture, HTTP caching, DNS, Adaptive Bit Rate streaming.
Experience with popular Online Video Platforms (OVP)
Experience with LUA and or Python scripting a plus.
Experience with virtualized “cloud computing” hosting environment
Experience with packaging encryption, and digital rights management technologies
Experience with HMAC Tokenization
Extensive understanding of video file formats
Experience developing and maintaining a SOA including XML, SOAP and REST
Experience with client-side web technologies
Technical leadership skills for supporting project management.
Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven success managing relations with customers and colleagues.
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think creatively, self start and solve complex problems
