Business Intelligence Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
 
Business Operating Metrics
  • Develop in-house expertise on key business operating metrics
  • Quickly and correctly identify underlying areas of concern when issues are identified in dashboard metrics
  • Understand and recommend action on key drivers of key performance indicators
  • Audit existing reported metrics and expand on them when appropriate
  • Statistical modeling (regression, etc) working with both normalized and disparate data sets (Pricing Strategy, Marketing Strategy, etc)
 
Project Management/Execution
  • Proven ability to take complex business analyses and projects from concept to completion, often requiring interaction with multiple departments
  • Effectively prioritize requests in accordance with corporate goals
  • Adapt quickly to constantly support key initiatives and priorities as they change.
 
Reporting and Analytics
  • Produce some weekly standard reports and assist in quarterly and annual forecasting process.
  • Support senior US team with analysis needed to make important decisions. Analyst will be expected to make recommendations to senior US team leaders based on his/her analytical findings that will impact business strategy
  • Use problem solving and creativity to apply appropriate metrics in the creation of compelling and thorough analyses
  • Identify KPIs for US businesses and share those findings with other teams globally to help promote best practices company-wide.
  • Help instill metrics-focused mindset among stakeholders
  • Understand and utilize web analytics software packages (particularly Omniture)
  • Complete full analysis and modeling in addition to summarizing and creating executive reports based on those findings
 
Candidate Profile
 
  • 2-3 years of financial/business modeling, ROI reporting, financial budgeting and forecasting
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the “why” of various results and a desire to grow responsibility and become a domain expert and strategic thought leader
  • Must be comfortable with uncertainty. Projects and assignments will change rapidly, so the analyst must be flexible enough to accommodate changing priorities and timelines.
  • Able to work with different business units and teams, often across multiple countries, to gather complete datasets and communicate findings and practices company-wide.
  • Able to work independently and proactively, identifying issues and raising them to management, as well as offering potential solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with modeling complex business scenarios strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a prerequisite. Knowledge of SQL is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Omniture and web analytics generally is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree and solid background in mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative discipline required.
