Requirements
 
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast growing, rapidly changing business climate. You will have recent hands-on experience of building processes and implementing appropriate financial controls across a pan-European business.
 
Working closely with local teams, you will be responsible for the preparation of UK financials & will assist in the review and control of pan-European monthly reporting across 5 legal entities and a matrix of business units. You will provide country managers with accurate, timely & meaningful financial information and provide forecasting, budgeting and operational support.
 
 
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:
 
  • Preparation of UK monthly management accounts, including updating all supporting schedules & providing a commentary to assist management in the understanding of the results.
  • Supporting European Financial Controller in the review of monthly management reporting from France & Germany to ensure a high quality & consistency of financial policies & procedures throughout Europe.
  • Assisting EU management team in the understanding, control, forecasting & budgeting of results for their Business Unit & Cost Centres.
  • Reporting on changes in income and expense in each of the business areas
  • Year-end filing for the Auditors, reviewing final accounts, answering queries etc.
  • Participating in the implementation of company-wide financial systems and processes
  • Review, improvement & documentation of internal controls in preparation for requirement to be Sarbanes Oxley compliant.
  • Supervising UK payroll including year end returns and bonus scheme calculations.
 
 
Experience, Skills & Attributes

Additionally, you will need to be a team player with a positive attitude, strong commercial focus and an international outlook. Equally as important will be your demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, your flexible approach and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of languages, particularly German would be an advantage as would Big 6 audit experience.
