SpaceX is currently seeking talented individuals for internship/co-op business operation opportunities at our Los Angeles Headquarters.
The most successful candidates for the SpaceX’s Internship/Co-Op Program have a history of significant contributions from previous internship experience, extracurricular projects in addition to a strong academic record.
Many participants in SpaceX’s Internship/Co-Op Program return as full-time employees upon completing their higher education.
Finance – Primary function of the finance group is to provide analysis and reporting to help management make better business decisions and achieve financial goals. Business functions include accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and resource planning. Past interns worked on: helping to understand monthly spending and look for opportunities to reduce expenses; assist with long-term resource requirement planning and improving forecast accuracy; review production costs, including materials cost and usage, and factory labor rates; tracking project costs for each launch; and market share analysis.
Majors represented are mainly: Accounting, Finance, or Business/Economics majors; previous experience in a corporate environment and VBA/SQL programming skills will be a huge plus.
Purchasing – The SpaceX purchasing team is responsible for ensuring lowest product cost and risk through supplier management, strategic negotiations, spend analysis and continuous process improvement. An intern joining this team would expect to gain first-hand experience analyzing supplier and spend data, communicating with suppliers, purchasing direct and/or indirect goods or services, and support of various projects like creating and implementing new processes. This position provides insight into the support operations of the business from how purchases are treated from an accounting standpoint to how materials move within a manufacturing facility. This position may offer an opportunity to create a process and present it to executive management. An ideal candidate would have creative problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Business Systems Analyst - Involves challenging, fast-paced, front-line interaction with SpaceX’s growing ERP user base primarily via our proprietary ticketing system or telephone. Duties include analyzing user’s requests; identifying problems; researching solutions; and resolving technical problems as needed for the wide variety of business and manufacturing applications and systems supported within the company. He/she will work with seasoned business analysts to assist them wherever needed which may include SQL Querying, developing SQL scripts, application testing, process documentation, report modification and bug identification and documentation.
We are seeking an articulate, friendly person with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is able to think fast on his/her feet. Good listening skills are a must. The ERP Business Systems Analyst Intern must be able to work in an organized manner with particular attention to detail while solving problems and responding positively to challenges in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be computer literate and type at least 30 words per minute. Experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook, and Word as well as exposure to any ERP software is an advantage.
Majors represented are mainly: Business, Accounting or Management Information Systems.
