Shopatron is looking for an individual with strong software development experience to join the Shopatron software engineering team. The Shopatron engineering team is responsible for architecting, developing and deploying a complex eCommerce and logistics fulfillment infrastructure containing hundreds of thousands of products for leading brands in over 35 industries.  Our application stack uses a LAMP architecture with additional tools added where appropriate.


- Write Technical Specifications and lead other engineering team members
  through the software development lifecycle
- Design and develop high quality software with an emphasis on world class
  customer experience
- Design and develop software solutions using PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, and SQL
- Select and develop frameworks and tools to improve the overall application
  development team efficiency
- Develop automated regression test suites for both new application
  development and legacy systems
- Build highly available, scaleable web applications, including efforts in
  retrofitting existing systems for high availability
- Respond to customer product improvement requests
- Contribute to overall systemic and process improvements in Shopatron.
- Conduct design/code reviews
- Optimize/performance tune queries
- Identify and pro-actively address problems and potential risks and implement
  timely solutions

Required Background:

- BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of
- 5+ years experience in software design, including 2-3 years of web based
  database application experience
- Strong knowledge of web and internet technologies
- Thorough knowledge of object orientated programming
- Thorough understanding of database concepts and principles (MySQL
  exposure preferred)
- Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge of HTML/Javascript/PHP/SQL
- Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting/data manipulation tools
- Strong communication and team relationship skills a must
- High attention to details
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knows how to create simple easy to use solutions in a rapid prototyping
- Ability to work with high degree of independence and to multi-task multiple
  open projects
