Javascript Engineer Intern (Fall)

Seeking a hard-working, problem solving individual who is interested in working on the Grooveshark web application, mobile website, or a range of other projects. This intern will gain invaluable experience while working with other developer mentors to create new features and improve upon existing features. The ideal candidate will have a foundation of writing functional Javascript, HTML, CSS with clean, standards compliant code.

Here’s what you can expect from your internship:
  • Improve your Javascript, HTML & CSS understanding and skills
  • Troubleshooting Javascript, HTML & CSS for all major browsers
  • Become awesome at Git
  • Write Javascript to create shiny new features that people love
  • Work closely with and learn from a team of ridiculously smart, experienced developers of every type
  • Internship lasts 90 days, unpaid

  • Foundation in Javascript, HTML & CSS, preferably in large web applications
  • The ability to write clean, self-documenting code
  • High attention to detail
  • Adherence to coding standards
  • Experience with Git, Subversion or other version control systems
  • Experience dealing with browser compatibility issues
  • Experience with popular libraries such as jQuery and backbone
  • Down to work into the wee hours of the night
  • Love for music
  • An open-plan office, encouraging exposure to different teams at Grooveshark.
