Job Summary: Responsible for administration of XenDesktop environment including Delivery Services, Provisioning Services, User Profile Management, XenApp and vCenter; administration, deployment and maintenance of all images for XenDesktop environment; provides trends, analysis, plans and guidance for XenDesktop.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with five (5) years related work experience. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) with 3-4 years of experience with Citrix administration. Network and or Network Security Certifications preferred.
This role is focused primarily on Citrix technologies and we are looking for an expert to supplement our growing focus on this technology vendor. You must have at least 5 years experience of implementing multiple technologies in the Citrix product stack.

The successful candidate will have expertise in delivering Server Based Computing platforms using Citrix technology with a focus on delivering to large and medium sized enterprises (2000 users +).

Qualifications

In addition to the technical knowledge and project delivery experience, the successful candidate will have excellent customer facing skills, have experience of producing high quality written deliverables (Detailed Level Design, responses to RFP/RFI, knowledge documents, etc), be a team player actively contributing to knowledge sharing.

Key areas and technologies the candidate will show strong experience in are:
-Knowledge of Citrix Provisioning Server (functionality, purpose and general architecture)
-Knowledge of Citrix Management Console (Building delivery groups & administrating them)
-Knowledge of Citrix XenDesktop Wizard
-Knowledge of XenApp v5/6/6.5 (Building Streamed and Published apps & administrating them)
-Knowledge of Citrix Plugins, Agents and Receivers, VDA v5.5
-Design, develop, maintain architecture and implementation of Citrix XenApp 4,5 and 6 AND XenDesktop 4 and 5 environments
-Provides risk assessment, analysis, scalability, help with capacity planning calculations, and industry trends for the Citrix infrastructure
-Documents and maintains designs presented to technical groups for review of Citrix environment
-Oversees, implements, and conducts upgrades as needed
-Researches, investigates, and tests technology changes and other events that impact the systems
- The ability to design solutions based on physical and virtual environments
- Technical knowledge of storage platforms
-Knowledge of LAN & Wan environments
-Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure network equipment
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Design and Implementation knowledge of Citrix Access Gateway
- Experience of Citrix proactive fault/performance monitoring and pre-production load testing desired
- Experience in helping to design highly available, cross data centre solutions
-Building and testing Images – XP & Windows 7 using XenConvert or BNImage. Testing of images may be required after after hours
-Maintain existing Images – XP & Windows 7, Image Rollouts
-Diagnosing issues with VDIs such as connection problems, app failures, slow response or boot issues
-General knowledge of vCenter (cloning VMs, editing VM settings, monitoring alerts)
-VMWare interactions with XenDesktop

Experience of the following additional areas would be advantageous:
-Knowledge of virtualization management technologies (Quest vWorkspace, VMware View etc.)
- Active Directory
-Knowledge of Windows Server Design – SQL Server 2005, 2008
-Group Policies
-Terminal Services
-Knowledge of AppV – Application Virtualization
-Thin Client
-Working Knowledge of HP Server hardware, clustering and HA technologies

Desktop Support Related Experience:
Installing and configuring applications for the base image
Working customer break/fix incidents, requests and problems related to end user experience with Citrix
