The Opportunity:

Vintage + Market Finds is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to curate and merchandise antique and vintage inventory across our nine categories: furniture, lighting, textiles, wall decor, art, decorative accessories, tabletop, floor coverings, books and jewelry. The ideal candidate will have previous auction, curatorial, or gallery experience in relevant departments and a strong sense of vintage and antique market conditions and trends.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assists in merchandising new arrivals daily sale

-Merchandises daily category specific today’s arrivals pages

-Oversees the team’s daily adherence to price targets; communicates pricing/inventory deficiencies as needed cross functionally

-Identifies appropriate product and allocate to events

-Reviews 100+ products/day

-Develops and maintains vendor relationships to ensure that product information is accurate and priced competitively.

-Principally responsible for management of live sales; responds to vendor help emails daily and removes/remerchandises live sales as needed

-Manages owned inventories of vintage product

-Manages product submission levels and allocates accordingly

-Maintains keen awareness of product landscape for category

-Implements greenlight process for key vendors

-Regular vendor visits to strengthen long-term partnerships with local vendors

Business Analysis

-Presents weekly business update in VMF team meeting

-Analyzes historical data from past events; develops recommendations based on short term and long term strategies

-Tracks competitive efforts and provide strategic assessment of opportunities 

Event Project Management

-Assistants are solely responsible for QAing products launching in today’s arrivals; ensuring that product formatting, pricing consistency, and image quality are up to our standards


-3-4 years of experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment

-Master’s degree in decorative arts or antiques strongly encouraged

-Experience using fine and decorative arts price databases

-Proven ability to multi-task and operate independently

-Familiarity with working with multiple cross-functional partners

-Strong presentation and communication skills
