We are looking for a talented Visual Designer with an exceptional portfolio of work designing websites and web applications. You are passionate about every aspect of web design, from typography and color to composition and layout. You get excited about challenges like coming up with new and compelling ways to visualize complex data sets or improving the ease-of-use for common design patterns. You have a clean design style that balances beauty with usability, and you understand how good design affects user happiness.

You want to work on a team that not only values good design, but believes it is essential to the success of our products. You want to have a stake in crafting the direction of Strava and designing amazing products in the personal data space.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Create design systems/style guides for our applications and website
  • Develop pixel perfect comps in Photoshop of screens, new features, controls and data visualizations
  • Storyboard concepts for new features and interaction improvements
  • Translate requirements, sketches and wireframes into concepts and elegant user experience designs
  • Collaborate with Interaction Designers, Product Managers, Front-End Designers and Developers on design and feature implementation 
Requirements
  • 2+ years of web application and information design experience
  • BFA/MFA in design, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience designing consumer and/or commercial web applications
  • Proven track record for designing compelling, accessible and standards-based user experiences
  • Excellent use of typography, color, imagery, composition and other graphic elements
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and communicate progress in an agile development environment
  • Ability to synthesize feedback while maintaining ownership of the design process
  • Expert in Adobe CS Suites, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Strong sketching/drawing skills
