The Role
One Kings Lane Buyers are passionate about product, appreciate the consumers’ emotional connection to our beautifully curated assortments, and recognize where the business drivers are.  Our Branded Buyers are responsible for establishing the category strategies that collectively drive 80% of our business.  We are seeking an exceptional individual who is passionate who values the importance of building great relationship & thrive in nurturing and growing brands If you love home décor and can effortlessly balance the art and science of Buying we would love to talk with you!
 
Responsibilities:
  • Own and grow established category business in partnership with Assistant Buyer and Merchandise Assistant.  
  • Build assortment strategies to gain market share and drive revenue for the business
  • Identify opportunities for continued growth in the home decor space for the flash-sale business model
  • Partner with internal partners to establish long-term, viable business growth opportunities
  • Identify marketplace trends and source new product / vendors to ensure continued freshness in product offerings.
  • Build and foster relationships with a large portfolio of vendors
  • Negotiate with vendor in the interest of business goals and strategies
  • Track competitive efforts and provide strategic assessments of opportunities
  • Train, develop and mentor a team of Assistant Buyer, and Merchandise Assistant
 
 
Requirements:
  • 6+ years Merchandising or Buying experience 2-3 as a Merchandiser or Buyer
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Experience analysis business trends as they relate to sell-though, margin gain, etc.
  • Strong relationship building skills including negotiation and senior executive interaction
  • Ability to work successfully with multiple business functions of an organization
  • Great communicator who is able to motivate & influence both internally and externally across all levels
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • An entrepreneurial, self-starter who can think innovatively take the ball and run with it with a positive attitude
