As an Assistant Buyer you will contribute to the continued growth of One Kings Lane as a partner to the Buyer within a product category (or categories). You will have the opportunity to own events, liaise with vendors, as well as OKL Creative and Event Production teams to produce daily sales events. Our ideal team member must have a passion & a love for product and has a pride of ownership that maintains a high bar for every task they take on. We are looking for an individual that is comfortable with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines. A natural collaborator with strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, is high detail oriented, and has demonstrated analytical skills. Responsibilities:
- Work with Merchandise Assistant to manage daily events
- Own the business direction & process calendar for specific events within a category
- Support the development of the Merchandise Assistant though mentorship and event ownership direction
- Drive the business based on past events and historical data that support the continued growth of the bottom line business of the category
- Build the product assortment and merchandise the line to support a strong margin gain
- Build and foster relationships with vendors and internal partners to ensure successful events
- Analyze post sale data to identify trends and themes within business
- Recognize opportunities within the business an develop recommendations for either immediate or long-term gains
- Provide leadership with business status updates and direction
- Maintain an awareness of product line themes and competitive landscape
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong Excel skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and operate independently
- Familiarity with working with multiple cross-functional partners
- Strong presentation and communication skills
